Septic tank top tips for care.

• Avoid using harsh chemicals such as bleach. This will kill off the bacteria that naturally breaks down the waste in your tank.
• Never flush anything down the toilet other than tissue paper. Wet wipes and other sanitary items do not break down and can cause your system to block.
• Avoid tipping fat or grease down the drain, this will congeal in your sewage system and can cause some nasty blockages.
• Have your tank emptied at least once annually. This will remove the solids and keep your tank clean avoiding blockages. (As recommended by the Environment Agency)
